Established in 2007 at Hsinwu Township, Taoyuan County, Lugu
Specialized Rice Production and Marketing Area is the closest one
adjacent to Taipei Metropolitan rice consumption area. In the
beginning, there were 60 hectares of farming fields. Now there are 130
hectares this year. The major rice variety cultivated here is Taoyuan No.
3. The rice itself exudes rich taro aroma, so it is also known as taro rice.
The mouthfeel and texture are better when served cool than hot. It is
very suitable for making sushi and household consumption. After
harvested, the rice is store at low temperature all the way. The product
has verified traceability. Besides, the heavy metals content of soil and
water are checked and proved to be safe. Therefore, it is an extremely
healthy and safe agricultural product.
