The Specialized Good Rice Production and Marketing Area was

established through the guidance and assistance of the Council of

Agriculture, and the variety “ TK No. 9” was selected for the exclusive

cultivar in this specialized area. The Specialized Area is located at

Tongluo and Gongguan Townships with contract farmers for the rice

supply. The Area is surrounded by pollution-free mountains and

streams, the origin of one of the major rivers in Taiwan, Houlung

Stream. The water here is very clean, and extremely suitable for paddy

cultivation. The hygiene condition of the rice is strictly monitored

before and after harvesting. Its quality conforms to the specifications

of CNS Grade A Standards rice. The mouthfeel and appearance are also

superb.
