Wu Feng is a typical agricultural township located at the south end of

Taichung County, Taiwan. Rice is the leading corp in this township with

a total production area of 1,350 hectares. In addition to the superior

natural environment conditions, the crystal like irrigation water comes

form the Wu River which originated form He-Huan Mt. Wu-Feng

Farmers’ Association selected the Aro Magic rice based on the field

trials conducted by the Agricultural Research Institute, Council of

agriculture. To ensure the good quality, rice production and marketing

groups are organized under the supervision of the Farmers’

Association. All rice production is under unitary contract-growing

between the Farmer’ s Association and the groups. Field inspections

are conducted periodically to control the application of pesticides and

fertilizers to ensure the highest rice quality in Taiwan. This is why Wu -

Feng has long been known as the motherland of Aro Magic rice. The
