The town is located in the East Rift Valley Plain, south of Chishang,

north of Luyie Township, and east of the Central Mountain Range. The

irrigation water comes from the New Wulu Stream from the South

Horizontal Road. This area is measured about 1,800 hectares. As

Guanshan remains undeveloped, its environment, water, and air are

entirely free from industrial pollutions. The mild climate is a plus that

the quality of rice grown here is very popular to the consumers. After

the accession to WTO, the competitiveness of rice was very important,

and the plan of establishing specialized rice production and marketing

areas became substantially essential. To ensure the prospect of

“ Guanshan Rice,” for the past 20 years the Association has shaped

well and set up a marketing network. “ Guanshan Rice” has gained

reputation and functioned well to meet the government policy aimed to

raise rice farmers’ income.
