The over 80-year-old rice farmer, Uncle Kunbin (known as Kunbinbo),

grows his grains in the way as he adores his lover. As the chief master

of Fang Rong Specialized Rice Rroduction and Marketing Area,

Kunbinbo and his team members, including Shen Jian-Yi, Hsiao Deng-

Cai, Lin Jin-Zai and Cheng Xiu-Lin, were successively awarded National

Champion Rice in 2007, 2008 and 2009. After perfectly steamed, the

rice of Fang Rong is crystal-like, moist and chewy, especially with

faintly sweet aroma of taro. Tucked away in a humble village, the

group of rice farmers has dedicated to the land contently and

religiously, only attempting to create better quality for their consumers

just like the prayers they’ ve offered for decades—may rice, the

blessing of heaven, bring you happiness and sense of belonging.
